Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue

Reign

The Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue (SSBTR) is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, SC043662. We have no paid staff and are an entirely voluntary organisation. We are fully dependant on donations and fundraising efforts. SSBTR is a member of the Association of Dog and Cat Homes (ADCH). We uphold a High level of Animal Welfare and Operational Standards.

We offer a safe, confidential and reliable space to rehome Staffordshire Bull Terriers to suitable forever homes. Another key thing that we do is raise awareness regarding the stigma surrounding staffies both online and at events.

Originally set up by Mr Vic Pounds in England 1971, the following year, a branch was opened in Glasgow by Mrs Joanna Mason. The Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue, as it is today, was started in 1973 by Kay Carmichael, The Dowager Duchess of Hamilton. We are very proud to have her as our Patron, as she is the very reason the rescue exists. She maintains this link with the rescue after decades of helping staffies.

The rescue operates within Scotland. Our small team of Trustees share the workload and are supported by a number of volunteers.
