Fostering Charlie................................. 7 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 1
Charlie arrived on Satuarday, all happy and very playful.

Charlie's issues are that he is obese, through no fault of his own.

Well he has became a very good boy at our house and a firm favourite with all our neighbours, he enjoys walking marchin and getting out and about much more than we expected.

Photos and stats on Charlie will follow as soon as I find my data cable.

He is a sound dog with a heart of gold, happy to met everyone apart from dogs, however we will work on this over time, his past times currently are watchin TV, having a good belly rub, he also adores cuddles and kisses.

On our trip to the park he wasnt at all fussed on the ducks or swans, he rather enjoyed the views..........me too!

Hi Adele

Thanks for the update on Charlie and glad he is settling in okay.
He is a lovely dog and surprisingly loves his walks (as Lesley & I found out when we walked him whilst he was in kennels)but I think he just really enjoys getting out as walks where sadly missing in his past life.
Thank you for fostering him (not many people would take on an overweight dog but I think we all know Charlie is just going to blossom as the weight continues to drop off!), its much appreciated by us at the rescue.
Look forward to many updates & photos.

What a wonderful week, Charlie is well settled, currently asleep on the rug at my feet after havin a hard day at rubgy trainin, where we walked round the rugby park while my son was playing, we walked for over 2 hours meeting all sorts on people running, walking dogs, buggies, etc, Charlie is the first dog that we have had who doesnt care about puddle jumping!

Tonight was a real treat due to his strick diet we decided on sat nites dog treat so Charlie has had a bone, which he was delighted to recieve.....................He tore into it nae bother at all , while waggin his wee tail............

Monday will be Charlies weigh in day, also we wil take a few measurments as I recon( yes im biased) that he has a shaped waist already!

He loves his cuddles is very keen to meet new people and always has the time to give me my kisses and cuddles, he is a great dog all he needs is a great owner, xax

Charlie has lost 3.3kg (28.3), superstar..................................We would have preffered for him to loose 1kg, per week however this was not tobe.

We got some great dieting dog tips from our vet nurse, 1- feed the dog AM, and do not give meat treats, 2- retain 100grams of food and use this as treats, 3- carrotts good green veg good APPLE BAD.

He is a sweet kind dog, wholoves to walk run and play, xax

Photos will follow as soon as I find my data cable...argh(kids)

Charlie is a complete and utter JOY, he is a total gentlmen, the best little dog we have ever had, he has no bad habits.....................................nano none, and I think he woud make a great PAT dog, he completly loves to met people, has no aggresion(part from other dogs. we are workin on this) . We are completly in awe of his pleasant manner his total attitude to home life and his eye contact to inform us of his needs, i.e mum can i go out to sun bathe? mum can we go for a walk, by lookin at his lead, he is great with kids, comletly has no interest in prams, skateboards etc......................................we are turnin down his walks this week as we over done it in his first week here.

The concentration this week is relaxation, dog masage and fun, eye contact and now that he has lost the weight the under arm rash from the harness which was too tight, we are concentrating on understandin fun anmd games, Charlie loves to mouth like a puppy, and he is keen to lick and apoligies if he is too rough, which he never ever is, i just repremand him very quickley, this weekend will be all about fun and games now that we have gained an understanding, ball fetching rope tug of war..........I adele ALL WAYS WIN!!!!!!

Anyone wantin to met Charlie is more than welcome to contact the site via the contacs, Charlie is a stunnin Staffie with a personalitie to match, he is exceptionally house trained and is kind gentle and loving, we adore him and want him to go to a home that can offer him the best forevrhome thats possiable, Charlie is laid back calm and very attentive, we would benifit any humab contact, wether its a family, or single person envirment, he is the best dog on this earth, xax

NewsFlash

Please help..URGENT

I have a couple of people i know who came up for the SKC show on Thursday from England to show their dogs, they took them for a walk in Roslin Glen country park on Thursday afternoon  the dogs subsequently had a fight and 2 of them ended up rolling over the edge of a crag and down the rock face,at this part of the walk there was no warning signs or fences preventing anything or anyone falling over this edge even though there is a huge drop.

One dog was found safe and well on a ledge and has  since been treated by a vet for injuries to its lungs but the other bitch was no where to be found after hours of frantic looking.

The SSPCA ,dog warden and police all know about this but i just wanted to put it here in case anyone hears of anything they can contact me direct by email on spotdog.1@ntlworld.com   or mobile 0774 094 8245.

Any information will be gratefully recieved i just hope to God someone has found her and taken her in to care for her as the alternitive outcome isnt so good, she has been missing for over a week now so please keep your eyes and ears open for any news of this girl, her owners have went to the spot over and over walked the whole area on both banks of the river with no luck.

Christine
